About the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll report directly to the Head of Engineering and CTO. You'll collaborate closely with the Product team to:

• Build new products

• Scale existing systems

• Manage architecture and deployments

We are trusted by global freight forwarders, manufacturers, and cargo airlines — this role is key to helping us scale securely and reliably while maintaining that trust.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, backend services, and system components.

• Debug and resolve production issues across multiple levels of the stack.

• Collaborate with Product, Business, and Data Science teams to understand customer pain points and deliver impactful solutions.

What We’re Looking For

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Python (especially with Flask or other web frameworks)

• Experience with RESTful API design and best practices

• Comfortable with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Familiarity with tools like Docker, Git, Elasticsearch, Spark, CI/CD pipelines

• Bonus: Experience with distributed systems, real-time data, or other relevant stacks

System Architecture

• Strong grasp of how large systems fit together

• Experience handling scalable, data-driven products with many moving parts

• Strong eye for detail and performance optimization

Team Player

• Experience in diverse, remote, cross-cultural teams

• You’re hands-on, goal-oriented, and comfortable working in agile environments

• Contribute to engineering excellence and key architectural decisions

Empathetic Communicator

• Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas across various platforms (remote meetings, written docs)

• Open to feedback and respectful in disagreements
