About the Role: Site Reliability Engineer

As an SRE at Poshmark, you will be responsible for the health, performance, and capacity of our Internet-facing services. You will work closely with development teams, ensuring platforms are built with operability, scalability, and automation in mind.

✔ Develop tools and automation frameworks to improve deployment and monitoring
✔ Collaborate on new product rollouts and feature deployments
✔ Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
✔ Optimize cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Key Responsibilities

???? First 6 Months:

• Get familiar with Poshmark’s tech stack and functional requirements

• Gain hands-on experience with automation tools and deployment processes

• Develop in-depth knowledge of product functionality and required infrastructure

• Begin contributing to small-to-medium scale projects

• Shadow on-call rotations as a secondary support to understand the process

???? First 12+ Months:

• Independently execute infrastructure-related projects

• Create alerts and dashboards to monitor critical infrastructure

• Identify and implement infrastructure improvements

• Take ownership of on-call rotation for production support

Required Skills & Experience

✅ Must-Have:
✔ 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering/Site Reliability Operations
✔ 5+ years of experience in large-scale UNIX-based web operations
✔ 5+ years of hands-on 24/7 production support for high-traffic applications
✔ Proven experience working on cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
✔ Expertise with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), configuration management (Ansible), and monitoring tools (Nagios, New Relic, Graphite)
✔ Proficiency in scripting/coding (Python, Bash, etc.)
✔ Strong knowledge of open-source technologies for infrastructure and monitoring

✅ Good to Have:

• Experience with container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker)

• Knowledge of distributed caching and messaging systems (Redis, RabbitMQ)

• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Packer, Datadog
