Position: Staff Engineer – Server Operations

EQ is seeking a Staff Engineer – Server Operations to deploy, manage, and support our global infrastructure across multiple data centers and cloud environments.

This role requires strong expertise in AWS, Windows & Linux server infrastructure, security fundamentals, network devices, and automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

???? Server Infrastructure Management
✔ Provide 2nd line production support as per SLAs.
✔ Manage server installations, configurations, and upgrades (Cloud, Virtual & Physical).
✔ Ensure server reliability, scalability, security, and recovery.
✔ Monitor server resources, logs, and performance metrics.

???? Cloud & Automation
✔ Strong expertise in AWS is a must.
✔ Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
✔ Drive automation and process improvements in infrastructure management.

???? Incident & Problem Resolution
✔ Resolve technical incidents, service requests, and problems efficiently.
✔ Own root cause analysis (RCA) and problem management for infrastructure issues.
✔ Work closely with SMEs and take independent ownership of problems.

???? Security & Compliance
✔ Implement security patches, vulnerability fixes, and compliance measures.
✔ Participate in audit processes and ensure timely action on findings.

???? Collaboration & Reporting
✔ Work closely with UK & US teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
✔ Create and maintain technical documentation for installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Required Skills & Qualifications

???? Education & Experience:
✔ Proven experience in Server Operations & Infrastructure Management.
✔ Certifications in AWS, Windows, or Linux (preferred).

???? Technical Skills:
✔ Strong expertise in AWS.
✔ Deep understanding of Windows & Linux servers, fileservers, security fundamentals.
✔ Experience with network devices like load balancers and firewalls.
✔ Proficiency in automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, etc.).
✔ Hands-on experience in incident management, problem resolution, and RCA.

???? Soft Skills:
✔ Excellent communication (verbal & written).
✔ Process-oriented and detail-focused approach.
✔ Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
✔ Willingness to work night shifts (US business hours).
