Job Summary:

Houston Gifted Consultancy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Home-Based Software Developer to join our dynamic team. This remote position provides the flexibility to work from the comfort of your home while contributing to innovative projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for software development, strong problem-solving skills, and expertise in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software solutions that meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain software applications: Design, implement, and maintain software solutions in alignment with project requirements and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions.
• Perform unit and integration testing: Ensure software quality by writing and executing tests to verify functionality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues: Identify and resolve software defects or issues efficiently.
• Ensure performance and scalability: Optimize application performance and ensure scalability to meet evolving user needs.
• Stay updated with new technologies: Continuously improve your skills by exploring emerging technologies and programming languages.
• Documentation: Write and maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation for software projects.
• Provide ongoing support: Assist with post-deployment support and maintenance of software applications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in software development (2+ years preferred).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
• Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and API integration.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Ability to write clean, scalable, and efficient code.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Experience:

• At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record of working on full-stack or back-end development projects.
• Experience in developing software for web, mobile, or desktop applications.
• Previous remote work experience is a plus.

Working Hours:

• Full-time role with flexible working hours.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Must be available for team meetings and collaboration during core hours (10 AM - 4 PM UTC).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
• Critical thinking abilities to provide innovative solutions to technical issues.
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
• Experience with modern frameworks and libraries (React, Angular, Django, etc.).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) is a plus.
• Ability to excel in a remote environment with excellent time management and organizational skills.
