About the Role

We are looking for an Energy Market Analyst with a strong academic background and experience in the Indian power sector. The ideal candidate should have:

✔ Analytical expertise in power generation, transmission, and distribution
✔ Ability to lead research, analysis, and modeling
✔ Proficiency in working with large energy datasets
✔ Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

This role provides an opportunity to apply academic knowledge, interact with industry experts and clients, and develop consulting skills in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

???? Market & Economic Analysis

• Perform advanced quantitative and economic analysis of energy markets (India-focused)

• Assess and forecast electric power and fuel markets, including:

  • Power prices

  • Power plant operations

  • Fuel consumption

  • Environmental emissions & compliance

  • Transmission and regulatory impacts

???? Data Research & Management

• Maintain and update a large database of energy-related data

• Track industry trends, policies, and regulations

• Convert raw energy data into model-ready parameters for forecasting

???? Project Delivery

• Lead research, analysis, and preparation of client deliverables (reports, presentations)

• Support large consulting engagements and lead smaller projects independently

• Provide data-driven insights into energy markets, planning, and strategies

???? Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement

• Stay up to date on industry developments

• Publish whitepapers on relevant energy sector topics

• Interface with clients and present key findings

Preferred Qualifications

✅ Education & Experience

✔ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) from a reputed institution
✔ 2-5 years of relevant energy industry experience
✔ Strong quantitative skills and ability to handle big data analytics

✔ Master’s degree (preferred) in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical)
✔ 0-2 years of experience in:

• Power markets & price forecasting

• Fuel price forecasting & strategic energy planning

• Energy modeling & data analysis

• Energy consulting

Technical Skills & Tools

???? Data & Modeling Tools:
✔ Power market modeling tools (preferred)
✔ Advanced Excel, VBA, R, Macros
✔ Experience in converting energy data into model-readable information

???? Software Proficiency:
✔ Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
