Founded in 2009, Aasraa Trust is dedicated to transforming the lives of street and slum children in Dehradun through education, skills training, healthcare, nutrition, and shelter. From starting with 35 children, we now support over 11,000 children across 80+ projects in the district. We work with NIOS and the Uttarakhand Education Department, run shelter homes, and focus strongly on girl education and special needs children.
The Senior Soft Skills Trainer is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating soft skills training modules under the Skillability Program. The goal is to equip marginalized youth with communication, interpersonal, and employability skills to prepare them for long-term career success and integration into the workforce.
1. Training & Curriculum Development
Deliver soft skills sessions using engaging, experiential methods.
Develop training modules on:
Communication & conversational English
Emotional intelligence & teamwork
Leadership & conflict resolution
Professional etiquette
Customize content based on individual learner needs and market trends.
Include training in entrepreneurship, green skills, customer service, hospitality, and grooming.
2. Trainee Mentorship & Career Readiness
Offer personalized mentorship and career counseling.
Conduct mock interviews, resume-building, and job-readiness sessions.
Support students in overcoming personal challenges and building confidence.
3. Monitoring & Evaluation
Conduct pre/post-assessments to evaluate learning progress.
Gather feedback for improving training effectiveness.
Maintain accurate trainee records and program documentation.
4. Teaching Methodology & Learning Environment
Use activity-based learning and adapt to various learning styles.
Integrate digital tools and virtual platforms where necessary.
Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Work with vocational trainers and industry partners to align training with job market needs.
Organize guest talks, industry exposure visits, and networking opportunities.
Ensure comprehensive support for vulnerable youth throughout the training journey.
Education:
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Human Resources, Communication, or related fields.
Certification in soft skills/life skills/behavioral training is a plus.
Experience:
3–5 years of experience in soft skills training, career counseling, or life coaching.
Experience in development or education sectors preferred.
Strong command of spoken and written English.
Effective communication and facilitation skills.
High emotional intelligence and empathy for vulnerable youth.
Knowledge of workplace readiness frameworks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Workspace.
