Role Overview

As a System Test Designer, you will be an integral part of the Emergency Care and Resuscitation (ECR) R&D team, actively contributing to cardiac defibrillator product development. The ECR team focuses on advanced life support solutions, automated external defibrillators, and data management solutions—designed with life-saving precision.

We are seeking a passionate System Test Designer to help us expand our product portfolio, services, and solutions, while bringing cutting-edge technology to market.

Key Responsibilities

• Support product verification across the medical device lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership on cross-functional teams.
• Define, document, and improve verification tests, conduct peer reviews, and maintain requirement traceability.
• Execute verification tests, analyze results, and ensure complete verification of product requirements.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues.
• Perform work with minimal supervision as a department subject-matter expert.
• Participate in design reviews, including verification plans, reports, and test artifacts.
• Develop and execute validation test plans, test records, and test fixtures.
• Stay updated on technological advancements to contribute to product development success.
• Support technology roadmaps and strategic initiatives.

Your Team

This role is part of Emergency Care (EC) Business Category within Philips Connected Care Cluster. The EC team focuses on respiratory care, resuscitation, and emergency care solutions (devices, services, and digital solutions).

This position is based in Pune, India, reporting to the Emergency Care R&D Leader. Philips is expanding its engineering team in Pune, making this an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Emergency Care product development.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• 5+ years of experience, with at least 3 years in medical devices or similar industries.
• Strong knowledge of global quality & regulatory standards for medical devices, including:
  • FDA CFR 21 Part 820.30
  • IEC 60601-1-1 (CE mark)
  • ISO 13485
  • Risk Management Requirements
• Experience in product verification and design control (preferably Class-III medical devices).
• Expertise in System Verification & Validation, test planning, execution, and analysis.
• Strong understanding of national/international compliance standards.
• Excellent technical writing/documentation skills for a regulated medical device environment.
• Effective communication skills for engaging with technical & non-technical stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate future concerns.
• Ability to build strong relationships and earn trust quickly.
